A Caribbean Dinner in the Sky
The Caribbean is associated with many things. Some people think of pirates, others visualize a lazy afternoon on a white sand beach staring out at the azure blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. There is some very tasty rum that has its roots in the Caribbean. Exotic trees, plants, wildlife and marine life are always intriguing things to explore while in the region as well. No matter what country you visit in the Caribbean, there will always be a fabulous exhibition of music. It might be reggae or calypso, salsa or bolero, even a little meringue!
The same is true for food. Every country has its own cuisine, and indeed each region of the same nation will have variations on the same dish. The local crops and livestock define the food we eat, and so it is the same in places like Jamaica, Cuba and Costa Rica. But have you ever had a Caribbean Dinner in the Sky? We are not speaking of freeze-dried grilled cheese sandwiches in economy class on a 747Boeing. Nor are we referring to a chilly picnic of egg salad sandwiches at the top of a mountain.
Imagine a beautifully set formal dinner table with 22 of your closest family and friends seated in state of the art four-point harness chairs welded to the platform, three suited butlers serving hot gourmet cuisine, all while suspended 164 feet in the air! That is a Caribbean dinner in the sky. The Belgian based company has come up with a safe and novel way to have an exquisite meal, all while enjoying a view of the surround area like no other. In fact, all 22 seats are designed for maximum safety as well as optimum viewing, as they are able to turn a full 180 degrees.
The table, chairs and platform are held by a 120 ton crane, whose weight is divided over 5 axes. It is engineered to hold the specially designed 5 ton table, seats, guests, staff, and food with ease. If 164 feet is a little too high for your liking, the crane can be lowered to a more practical height. Lighting is provided above the table via chandeliers of varying styles, from ultra-modern to old-world ornate.
Getting married in the Caribbean is nothing new, but what about getting married in the Caribbean sky? The same crane is in use, but with a different platform and all the appropriate safety harnessing and equipment. Imagine looking over the lush tropical forest of Jamaica or Costa Rica while committing to a lifetime with your loved one, and in the background the Caribbean Sun is setting in all its golden splendor. There you are, getting married in the sky!
